It looks like the bromance between Elon Musk and Donald Trump has hit a serious rough patch... and it's all over a bill.
On Tuesday, Musk took to his platform X (formerly Twitter) to unload on Trump’s latest federal spending package, which the former president proudly calls his “big, beautiful bill.” Musk, clearly fed up, called it a “disgusting abomination” and accused lawmakers of irresponsibly worsening the country’s already bloated debt crisis.
It was, by far, the most direct and harsh criticism Musk has ever made against Trump....and it has people wondering... is their alliance officially over?
The Breakdown: What Did Musk Actually Say?
“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk wrote in a viral post.
“This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it,” he added.
He also claimed the bill will “massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion” and leave everyday American citizens drowning in unsustainable debt.
